Who We Are

What we do

Eagle Lake Camps inspires Christ-centered love and commitment through counselor relationships in the midst of exciting outdoor experiences.

We’re blob masters and tie-dye enthusiasts. We’re fiercely competitive when it comes to Gaga Ball championships. And while we may fight over whether the Big Bopper or the Choco Taco will take home the Ultimate Dessert gold (who are we kidding – Choco Taco never stood a chance), we can band together quicker than you can say “inside joke” to turn something into an inside joke, and then laugh about it until the cows come home. Which actually happens sometimes. (Hello, Midwest On Location Host Homes.)

But what we’re known for, and what we want YOU to know about us, is that:

WE LOVE JESUS. We believe that discipleship will impact the world, and we know that intentional time in the Word will change hearts. So we commit ourselves to both in order to know Jesus better and to help others know Him, too.

WE LOVE FUN. We’re convinced that there is no better way to build life-long, life-changing relationships than through shared experiences and laughter. So we pave the way for both by hiring only the best staff and by working hard to create exceptional programs.

WE LOVE KIDS. We believe Jesus meant it when He said that the Kingdom belongs to such as these, so we’re doing our darndest to meet as many kids as we can right where they’re at, introducing them to Him and loving on them like He does in the process.

WE LOVE THE GREAT COMMISSION. You can bet that we’ll be spreading our enthusiasm for Jesus, kids, and fun wherever we’re at, whether on top of a Colorado mountain or out in the middle of a Missouri soybean field.

THE GOAL OF EAGLE LAKE CAMPS IS TO INSPIRE CHRIST-CENTERED LOVE AND COMMITMENT THROUGH COUNSELOR RELATIONSHIPS IN THE MIDST OF EXCITING OUTDOOR EXPERIENCES.

Our Commitment To Safety

Our campers’ well-being is our #1 priority.

With more than 60 years of combined Christian camping experience, our full-time staff works hard year-round to ensure every camp maintains the highest standard of excellence. Summer staff are only hired after an in-depth interview, background checks, previous employer references, and character references are performed. They then go through an expansive 10-day orientation which includes a rigorous child protection training, and are met with throughout the summer by our leadership staff so that we can ensure their spiritual, physical, and emotional health.

Our Overnight camps staff a full-time registered nurse along with student nurses on-call at all times. If needed, a hospital can be accessed at a nearby mountain community. We have emergency plans for every contingency. Nothing is more important to us that your camper’s safety.

All Excursions camp staff are experienced in outdoor pursuits. Each member is required to make a two-summer commitment, and the entire team undergoes 21 days of rigorous training. Excursion counselors are Wilderness First-Aid and CPR-certified. First-Aid kits are carried at all times, along with two-way radios and/or cell phones for emergencies. While inherent risks exist in any adventure activity, risks are minimized dramatically by implementing the highest safety standards in the industry.

Eagle Lake is licensed by the State of Colorado, accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA), and an appraised member of Christian Camp & Conference Association (CCCA) and the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA). Eagle Lake Excursions Camps are operated in the Pike, San Isabel, and Gunnison National Forests under special-use permits from the United States Forest Service (USFS).

Your genuine love for the Lord and love for the campers is evident. The counselors are well trained and genuinely connected with and cared for my children. As a parent, someone else pouring God's truth into your child is invaluable, so thank you for that! —Donna, Colorado
