The goal of Eagle Lake Camp is “to inspire Christ-centered love and commitment through counselor relationships in the midst of exciting outdoor adventures”.

At Eagle Lake, we work hard to create a memorable camp experience. Our secret weapons in achieving this are our counselors! They are the ones who live out our goal daily by implementing our exceptionally well-run programs, providing contagious fun and meeting campers wherever they are at spiritually and socially. Our staff is focused on a life-on-life ministry approach that emphasizes excellence, wholeheartedness, and faithfulness in all areas, with plenty of feedback, evaluated experience, and personal care from our full-time staff.

Each of our staff members is carefully screened with character references, criminal background checks, past-employer references, an in-depth application, and a personal interview. Once accepted, they take part in a customized 10-day orientation (3 weeks for Excursion staff), during which they are trained and prepared for the upcoming summer.

2016 Summer Staff Information

Eagle Lake only offers summer staff positions to individuals able to make a full-summer commitment. There are no half-summer positions available. Summer staff receives a base salary for their service, as well as room and board. 

2016 Summer Staff Position Overview

Eagle Lake On Location Counselor- May 25-August 14, 2016
  • Serve at churches across the United States and live in amazing host homes.
  • Invest in campers ages 7-12, many of whom come from underserved communities.
  • Lead small group Bible study and meet one-on-one with each camper.
  • Engage your campers in activities such as the euro bungy, water slide, tie dye and more!
 Day Camp Counselor- May 25-August 14, 2016                      
  • Serve at our Glen Eyrie property.
  • Invest in campers ages 7-12, many of whom who come back for multiple  weeks of camp.
  • Lead small group Bible study and meet one-on-one with each camper.
  • Engage your campers in activites such as the ropes course, water slide and field trips around Colorado Springs!
 

Rezident Counselor- May 25- August 14, 2016
  • Serve in an overnight camp setting complete with hiking, canoes and a zip line!
  • Invest in campers ages 8-14, with one week of high school camp.
  • Lead cabin’s Bible study and meet one-one with each camper.
  • Engage campers in activities such as capture the flag, Crazy Night and beachfront activities.
 Excursions Counselor- May 20- August 14, 2016
  • Serve while facilitating exciting outdoor recreational activities.
  • Invest in campers ages 10-18 with varying outdoor experience.
  • Lead campers as they experience their Creator in His creation.
  • Engage campers in activities such as mountain biking, rock climbing and back packing.
  • Because of the extra training involved with becoming an Excursions Counselor, a two summer commitment is required. 
Excursions Staff Trip Outfitter - May 20- August 14, 2016
  • Serve at the Trip Outfitter (TO) at our overnight property.
  • Support the Excursions Counselors by providing logistical support for all Excursions programs. As the excursions TO, you will pack meals for the trail, maintain, clean and repair equipment, facilitate high ropes course, belay rock climbs and maintain excursions inventory.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
  • Because of the extra training involved with becoming an Excursions TO, a two summer commitment is required. 
Crew Counselor - May 20- August 14, 2016
  • Serve at our overnight property.
  • Invest in campers ages 15-18 who have given up 5 weeks of their summer to serve at Eagle Lake.
  • Lead work crews as well as Bible studies and meet one-on-one with each of your campers.
  • Engage your campers in activities such as worship, night games, beachfront activities and so much more!
Kitchen Assistant - May 20-August 14, 2016
  • Serve in the kitchen at our overnight property.
  • Support overnight programs including Rez, Crew and Excursions.
  • Lead Crew counselors and Crew campers as you prepare food for up to 350 people daily.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
  • This seasonal position requires a two-summer commitment, which allows for the Kitchen Assistant to return the following summer as the Food Service Director.
Facilities Assistant - May 20-August 14, 2016
  • Serve with the facilities team at our overnight property.
  • Support overnight programs by helping to keep the equipment and grounds safe for use by campers and staff.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
Medical Staff - May 20-August 14, 2016
  • Serve at our overnight property.
  • Support staff and campers who need medical attention.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
  • We have 1-3 positions for an RN or NP and up to 2 positions for nursing students.
Videographer - May 20-August 14, 2016
  • Serve with the media team at our overnight property.
  • Support the overnight programs by capturing all of the moments that make a camper’s week exceptional! You will be provided with Final Cut digital editing system, a Canon digital camera, Apple G5 and the training you will need to be successful.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
Photographer - May 20-August 14, 2016
  • Serve with the media team at our overnight property.
  • Support the overnight programs by photographing everything from small group Bible studies to crazy dance parties to team competitions around the lake.The photographer is responsible for editing and uploading photos to our website for parents and campers to download. We will provide you with all the equipment that you need, however, you can use your personal equipment and software if you prefer.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.

Office/Admin Assistant – May 20- August 14, 2016
  • Serve at the main Eagle Lake office in Colorado Springs.
  • Support all of our Eagle Lake programs by assisting parents who have questions and preparing for weekly camper check-in.
  • Engage with other staff through Bible studies and discipleship.
  • Prior office experience and/or employment with any Eagle Lake program is required.

Hiring begins each year in October, with all positions filled no later than April.

Step 2: After you have completed sections 1 and 2 of your application. we will call you to set up an interview. Your completed application should be submitted the day before your interview.

Step 3: Once your interview and references are completed, we will contact you within 3 to 5 days to discuss your employment with Eagle Lake. 

NOTE: You are responsible for making sure that your references submit the reference form emailed to them.
