Glen Eyrie Day Camp

Glen Eyrie Day Camp

You belong here!

Located on the 800-acre gated property of the historic Glen Eyrie, campers will get a bird’s-eye view of the outdoors where native wildlife and beautiful scenery abound.

Day Camp at Glen Eyrie offers a top notch program full of fun outdoor adventures and spiritual growth opportunities for kids ages 7-13. Campers will experience two field trips every week! Every Tuesday, campers travel to Eagle Lake Camps’ overnight property to enjoy activities like the blob, zipline, waterslide, swimming, and more. Field trips on Thursdays vary week to week and include exciting locations in the surrounding area.

Other activities on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday include hiking, arts and crafts, archery, water games, tie dye, Bible study, and large team competitions. Day Camp at Glen Eyrie is so much more than just a day camp – it’s a summer filled with lasting memories and exciting adventures right here in Colorado Springs.

All registrations may be submitted online. $50 is due at the time of registration. This amount is a non-refundable deposit that holds your spot. Full payment is due two weeks before your camp week.

Week 1 (6/3): Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival & Springs Adventure Park
We’ll blast the music and have our very own Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival! Campers can earn tickets by playing all the classic carnival games (and some crazy, new games too!) and can cash them in for cotton candy, face painting, and our photo booth. If they somehow manage to earn an unimaginable amount of tickets (and they seem to every year), they can even spend them to pie their favorite counselor – or even better, one of the leadership – in the face!!! Who doesn’t want to see someone get pied in the face!?

Then in the afternoon, campers will be bouncing off walls and burning energy at Springs Adventure Park, featuring sports courts, slam ball, dodge ball, dunk tank, stunt bags, a ninja warrior course, Wipeout, and Battle Joust!!!

Week 2 (6/10): EXTREME Capture the Flag @ Our Overnight Property!
Fresh mountain air? Check. Exercise? Check. Friendly competition and that sweet, sweet feeling of victory? Check. We’re going to give your kids one of the very best experiences of their lives as they run over all through trees and up hills at our overnight property in Pike National Forest and we’ll return them to you very ready for bed. 🙂

Week 3 (6/17): Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival & Ice Skating and Broomball at Monument Ice Rinks!
It’s Round 2 of Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival – More FUN! More GAMES!! More PIE!!!

Then in the afternoon, we’ll make our way to Monument Ice Rinks to ice skate and have an epic game of BROOOOOOOOMBALLLLLL!!! All on our own private rink!

Week 4 (6/24): Roller Skating at Skate City & Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival
Get ready to blast to the past for our 4th annual Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Costume Competition (with prizes!!!)! Skate your way through Disco lights, classic tunes, limbo competitions, relay races, and more.
Please Note: Costumes cannot have masks that impair vision and must be appropriate (no blood, scary monsters, R-rated characters, etc.). Campers who wear inappropriate costumes will be asked to change.

Additionally, you may send cash with your camper for the arcade or snack bar! However, this money does not go into your Eagle Lake store account and is therefore not Eagle Lake Camps’ or its staff’s responsibility. Please only send if your camper can follow your instructions to use it.

And in the afternoon, if you didn’t earn enough tickets to pie that one counselor in the face the last time you were here, have no fear! Round 3 of Carnival is here!

Week 5 (7/1): Skillz Extravaganza at Our Overnight Property!
We’ve ramped up our Skillz Extravaganza from years past to make this one for the memories! We’ll head up to our beautiful overnight property in Pike National Forest so that campers can participate in some of the unique activities we offer on our Excursions program: Team-building challenges, rocking climbing, and (for the very first time) an obstacle course! And just because it becomes even more epic in the mountains, we’ll offer laser tag, too!

Week 6 (7/8): Roller Skating at Skate City & Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival
We’re heading back to Skate City to go roller skating, compete in the limbo, relay races, and other fun games!

Additionally, you may send cash with your camper for the arcade or snack bar! However, this money does not go into your Eagle Lake store account and is therefore not Eagle Lake Camps’ or its staff’s responsibility. Please only send if your camper can follow your instructions to use it.

In the afternoon, we’ll kick off round 4 of Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival!

Week 7 (7/15): EXTREME Capture the Flag @ Our Overnight Property!
If you missed out on the first EXTREME CTF field trip at our breathtaking property in Pike National Forest, then here’s your chance to get some skin in the game! Run through the trees and over the hills in the thrilling search for the flags.

Week 8 (7/22): Skillz Extravaganza at Our Overnight Property!
We’re heading up to camp once again for Skillz Extravaganza, but this time with a few more exciting activities offered: kayaking, rock climbing, team-building challenges, tunneling & bouldering, riflery, hiking, and an obstacle course!

Week 9 (7/29): Art Festival at Glen Eyrie & Ice Skating and Broomball at Monument Ice Rinks
Do you have a budding artist in your home? This week is for them! In the morning, we have the unique opportunity of inviting artists to our program to teach your campers the beautiful gift of art! Together with fellow campers and their counselors, your campers will get to explore our awe-inspiring property to find inspiration for their paintings, and then learn to paint!
Pump the music and get ready to dance… on ice! We’re going back to Monument Ice Rinks for another fun-filled afternoon of ice skating and broomball!

Week 10 (8/5): Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival & Springs Adventure Park
It’s the final round of our Day Camp at Glen Eyrie Carnival! Has there been a counselor or leadership you’ve been eagerly awaiting to pie in the face!? This is your last chance to do so!!!

Then, we’ll finish out the summer by returning to Springs Adventure Park! More jumping, more dodgeball-ing, more jousting, more wipeout-ing! Don’t miss out on this epic, grand finale of the summer!

What you need to know

Due to the frequent changes and updates that children experience within a year’s time we require parents to fill out a new health form every year. The doctor’s physical may be accepted if it is within 12 months of camp attendance. Please bring a copy of the current health form with you on the day of registration; all documents from prior years go into archive following the summer months, and are irretrievable.

Eagle Lake Day Camp at Glen Eyrie
Our Day Camp program is specifically designed and geared toward seven to twelve year olds. The high energy activities of camp can be difficult for six-year-olds and younger children to keep up with. Please contact our office if you have any questions about younger children attending our camp.

EARLY REGISTRATION If you register before January 31, 2019 you will receive a $50 discount off the camp of your choice (only applies to 5 or 12-night programs). REFERRAL DISCOUNT We also offer a Referral Program discount which provides an opportunity for you to earn discounts (up to a free week of camp) while helping us recruit new campers. Our referral program is only eligible for our Overnight Camps, and provides a $50 discount for each new camper you refer. Please see our referral page for more information.

For discounts on our Day Camp On Location programs please contact the church or organization hosting that week of Day Camp.

Overnight and Day Camp Programs: Financial aid, in the form of a partial assistance scholarship, is available to those in need. Financial assistance is approved by application only. Visit our Campership page to apply.

Eagle Lake Day Camp at Glen Eyrie:
Campers are responsible to bring their own sack lunch each day to camp. Eagle Lake has a camp store where snacks can be purchased and eaten during free time but feel free to pack some extra snacks in their lunch as well.

Eagle Lake Day Camp at Glen Eyrie
If a camper is on prescription medication, the medication is required to be checked in with Eagle Lake staff at registration. All medications, including vitamins, must be in the original container or will not be accepted. All medication, including vitamins, must be listed on the Eagle Lake physical form by the prescribing doctor. We do not allow any camper to keep medications on them except specifically requested by the physician.

Our medical staff distributes all medication at the time it needs to be taken by the camper. Please do not have campers bring over-the-counter medication to camp, as we are sufficiently stocked to meet the general needs of headaches, coughs and scrapes. If you have any questions about a specific medical situation, please call the camp office.

If needed, medications can be picked up at the end of each day and checked in each morning.

Day Camp at Glen Eyrie: Check-in for Day Camp is on the opening Monday of camp. Please arrive between 8:30 and 9:00 am on opening day to complete the registration process and make sure there are no outstanding forms or balances on your account. Pick-up is at 4:00 pm every day. (If your camper is signed up for Before and After Care, drop-off is between 7:00-9:00 am, and pick-up is from 4:00-6:00 pm.)
