Kitchen

As a member of Kitchen Crew, you'll have the opportunity to serve hundreds of campers and staff each week.

You’ll gain valuable culinary experience working alongside our expert kitchen staff.  Kitchen Crew is split into two shifts: AM crew and PM crew. The AM Kitchen Crew rises early to prepare breakfast and then later prepare for lunch. Our PM Kitchen Crew prepares dinner and preps for the following day’s menu. In addition to preparing meals, there are always plenty of messes to clean up and pots and pans to scrub down.

The Eagle Lake Kitchen is equipped to serve up to 500 people per meal. You will learn the basics of the culinary arts by cooking up some camp favorites like grilled cheese and tomato soup, pizza, hamburgers, and brownies. As a member of the Kitchen Crew, you’ll help keep the entire camp running smoothly by providing delicious meals for the appetites of many hungry campers and staff.

Want to show your camper some love while they are at camp? Visit our Care Packages page to see how you can do that!

Lost & Found update: We will no longer offer lost and found after camp has ended

We will have several opportunities for campers to look through Lost and Found during their camp session AND we will have a Lost and Found table out on Friday morning for parents to look over as they leave. However, we will no longer search through Lost and Found after camp; all Lost and Found will be donated.

A couple quick tips to help your camper’s gear pack stay intact:

  • PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING with camper’s full name!
  • PLEASE DO NOT send anything of strong sentimental or monetary value!
  • PLEASE take the time Friday to look over the Lost and Found table before you leave.

PRO TIP: Some expert camp parents send their campers with a “Packing Checklist” to use so campers know what important things to look for as they’re packing their bags at the end of the week! (This is also super helpful for counselors, especially if there is a special “snuggie” campers need for bedtime every night!)

What you need to know

Overnight and Day Camp Programs: Financial aid, in the form of a partial assistance scholarship, is available to those in need. Financial assistance is approved by application only. Visit our Campership page to apply.

To qualify for financial aid, your camper must have an active Eagle Lake registration secured with a $50 deposit (while the deposit is typically non-refundable, in the case that a registration must be cancelled due to insufficient financial assistance, the deposit will be refunded).

Overnight Camps
If a camper is on prescription medication, the medication is required to be checked in with the nurse at registration. All medications, including vitamins, must be in the original container or will not be accepted. All medication, including vitamins, must be listed on the Eagle Lake physical form by the prescribing doctor. We do not allow any camper to keep medications on them except specifically requested by the physician.

Our medical staff distributes all medication at the time it needs to be taken by the camper. Please do not have campers bring over-the-counter medication to camp, as our camp infirmary is sufficiently stocked to meet the general needs of headaches, coughs and scrapes. If you have any questions about a specific medical situation, please call the camp office.

If a camper is on one of our Excursions, he or she will need to check any medication in with the nurse, who will then give the medication to the counselor to administer at the appropriate time.

Overnight Camps
All of our Excursions and Rez(ident) Camps occasionally make age exceptions. However, you will need program manager approval. Please contact our office via phone or e-mail for more information.

We encourage friends and family to send letters, post cards, and even packages to campers/counselors. If you want to save on shipping, you may leave packages in our office when you drop your camper off and we would be happy to give it to them on the day you specify. Due to the location of our camp, there is no cell phone reception. Counselors may be contacted on their days off. In cases of extreme emergency, you may contact our office via phone or e-mail. It was well organized, the staff was excellent, and the kids had a blast! Still talking about it and talking about God. —Janet,
