Meet Our Staff

Hanley Kincaid

Crew Director
When asked why he enjoys his position as Crew Director, Hanley always has the same reply, “I have a heart for seeing high school kids grow deeper in their relationships with Jesus.” This response is what makes Hanley the perfect fit to direct our Crew program. He served as a Crew counselor in 2008 and then joined our full time staff in May 2009. He is able to serve the Crew counselors as well as minister to the Crew campers each summer.

Shaun Gutierrez

Excursions Director
After graduating high school, Shaun served active duty in the Army for three years. He met his wife in 2005 in Illinois at a church camp where they both were counselors. In 2007, Shaun and Larae were married and began their life and ministry together. Knowing his passion for youth ministry and love of the outdoors, he attended Western Illinois University and majored in Outdoor Adventure Recreation. Before graduating, Shaun and Larae came to Eagle Lake in 2007 as Excursions counselors. The following year, Shaun joined full time staff as the Excursions Director and has loved it ever since. He is passionate about impacting the lives of staff and campers, while having awesome adventures in God’s Creation! Shaun and Larae have been foster parents for one year. They currently are parenting two beautiful twin girls.

Lynn Engle

Facilities Manager
Growing up all over the United States as an Air Force Brat, Lynn got the chance to experience life in many different places before moving to Colorado. He settled here because of his love for the Rocky Mountains and his passion for the Ministry of Eagle Lake. Lynn is the Facilities Manager, and takes care of the property year-round (even during the snowy months) which means he is the man who helps camp run smoothly so that campers can have an awesome time, and build personal relationships with Jesus. After high school, Lynn attended Eastern Washington University and graduated in 1974 with a degree in Recreation and Park Administration. In 1976, Lynn joined full time staff with Eagle Lake and the following year he married Sharon, his wife of 34 years. They have four grown children and five grandchildren. Lynn is Eagle Lake’s resident mountain man and spends his free time enjoying the amazing outdoor scenery of Eagle Lake, bow hunting, skiing, hiking and playing ice hockey.

Sheri Underwood

Community Relations
Sheri attended college at Baylor University and graduated with a degree in Business Marketing in 1994. She moved to Colorado Springs after doing ministry in Estonia for one year. She met her husband, Bobby, in 1996, the same year she joined Eagle Lake staff. After getting married in 1997, Sheri shifted into a role with the Navigators’ high school ministry, Navyouth. 13 years and three awesome children later, she rejoined Eagle Lake Staff with a position in Community Relations. Sheri loves investing in kids and seeing their lives transformed by Jesus. She chose Eagle Lake Camp because of the opportunity to reach kids in the United States, as well as internationally- where there is an echo throughout the nations. Sheri and Bobby enjoy traveling with their kids every chance they get. Sheri is involved in the lives of teenagers year round through coaching a middle school volleyball team. She also can be spotted around town serving aces in pickup volleyball games with friends.

Kelsey Tippie

Operations Assistant
Kelsey has felt right at home since the first day she was involved with youth camping. Her passion for teaching kids about Jesus led her to a Rez counselor position at Eagle Lake in 2009. God grew Kelsey in amazing ways that summer and gave her a heart to return the following summer for another year on the Rez staff. After graduating from the University of Northern Colorado in 2010 with a degree in Earth Science and Secondary Education, Kelsey joined the full time staff team as an intern. (Her informal title is Director of Cabin Staining, a title she earned during the diligent construction of some new cabins up at camp.) One of her favorite parts of camp is the incredible community among the staff and campers and, of course, “Capture the Flag.” 2011 was a big year for Kelsey- she got married in December! Her husband, Trey, was on staff at Eagle Lake for 3 years and the two are so excited to spend their lives together. Congratulations Kelsey and Trey!
